This week we will begin our lessons in using Pure Data (Pd). We will use this throughout the semester. Please be advised that getting started programming can get overwhelming. I will go though each lesson slowly and methodically for the next few week making sure you have a grasp of basic concepts before proceeding to the next steps. this week we are going to focus on introduction to the language, the basic objects, and getting sound working as well as software installation and file and folder organization.

Week 06 2013.02.18 Pd Audio and Sampling
This week we begin our audio lessons in Pd. We will be loading some of our audio library sounds though a couple of different methods. The easiest method is to use [playsf~] to play the sound directly. This is fast and easy to get started but is not very interesting for sound sample manipulations. To have more control over the sample we will learn to load the sample into a [table] object and use [tabplay~] and the more complicated object [tabread4~]

We will also lean about the Pd windowing system using [gemwin] and how to get in and out of fullscreen using the ESCAPE key. We will also talk more about [key] and how to use it to control Pd via your keyboard.
